Authorization to provide pro bono or low-cost direct legal services

The Kansas Supreme Court adopted Supreme Court Rule 1404 to:

  • establish a process by which nonprofit legal service providers, nonprofit programs, or accredited law school clinics can be approved to use retired, inactive, or single-employer attorneys to provide pro bono services; and

  • identify the requirements and create an authorization process for attorneys who wish to provide these services.
