TOPEKA—Applicants who successfully passed the Kansas bar examination in February will be sworn in as Kansas attorneys Friday, April 30.

Chief Justice Marla Luckert of the Supreme Court and Chief Judge Julie Robinson of the U.S. District Court, District of Kansas, congratulated the news attorneys by video message.

These are two options for April 30, but admittees can also choose to be sworn in by any state judge.

In-person ceremony

Chief Justice Marla Luckert, joined by Justices Eric Rosen and Evelyn Wilson, will swear in new attorneys in person at 10 a.m. in front of the Kansas Judicial Center. Each new attorney may have two guests. Admittees and guests must wear masks and maintain 6-feet of physical distance from other participants.

Virtual ceremony

Justices K.J. Wall and Melissa Taylor Standridge will initiate videoconferences to swear in other new attorneys individually.
