Proposed New Rule 1204: District Magistrate Judge Serving as a Municipal Judge

The Kansas Supreme Court is accepting public comment on a proposed new rule: District Magistrate Judge Serving as a Municipal Judge in Rules Relating to Municipal Court.

This new rule would allow non-law trained but certified district magistrate judges to serve as municipal court judges without the need to go through another training and certification process.

Comment may be made by email to publiccomments@kscourts.gov until noon Saturday, July 5, 2025. The subject line must read “New Rule 1204.”
